Program Overview
Throughout the University of New Brunswick’s 225-year history, its alumni have been proud of, loyal to, and have given back to the university that afforded them many opportunities . . . to learn, to grow and to pursue success in their chosen field.
From its beginnings, the Association set out on a mission of helping to build a great university for future students and doing all it could to advance UNB as New Brunswick’s university. The Association’s mission could not have been stated more clearly than in its Act of Incorporation in 1870:
“THE OBJECT OF THE SAID CORPORATION IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE THE PROMOTION OF SOUND EDUCATION, AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE INTERESTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW BRUNSWICK, BY SUCH WAYS AND MEANS AS THE SAID CORPORATION MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DEEM ADVISABLE.”
The Associated Alumni has identified the Alumni Life Cycle as a strategic area of importance. Alumni are the university’s most important supporters. Alumni have a deep and well-formed bond with some part of UNB that is indelibly tied to a memorable time in their life. Over the course of their lives, alumni are the foundation for the intellectual, emotional and financial support that UNB will rely on for growth and evolution.
As an Association, one of our most important roles is to create a network of alumni volunteers and help identify and create opportunities for alumni to give back and for the Association to give back to our alumni. To that end, the Alumni Connections volunteer program was established.
