Alumni recognized by their former faculties

The faculties of business administration and computer science on the Fredericton campus honoured deserving alumni in November.

Beth Webster (MBA’95) and Keith Steeves (BBA’77) received the faculty of business administration’s Alumni Certificate of Achievement award and Steven Burns (BScCS’93) received the faculty of computer science's Distinguished Alumni award.

Beth Webster, vice-president administration at Populus Global in Fredericton, was recognized for her business development and administration management within the knowledge industry.

“It’s a recognition of a combination of working within a business and building some businesses up and being a business senior member of management for a long time," says Webster. "So it was pretty humbling. It was also exciting to see the next up-and-coming leaders, so it was just a really pleasant evening for me.”

Keith Steeves, chief financial officer at NAL Resources Management Ltd., was recognized for his role with oil and gas companies like Irving Oil Ltd., where he helped to raise private capital for the expansion of the Saint John refinery.

Steven Burns (BScCS’93) was honoured by the faculty of computer science for his more than 22 years of experience in the IT industry and for the success of his company, Bulletproof Solutions, which focuses on security and managed services and employs 90 people in Atlantic Canada with revenues in excess of $17 million annually.
