January is a high recruitment time at UNB, so I’d like to make a personal request to all UNB alumni: an important gift you can give our alma mater is your voice. By sharing your UNB story and spreading the word to potential future alumni on why they should consider coming to UNB, you can directly impact their decision making or help them to discover our university. Memories of UNB were certainly called to mind for a number of our fellow alumni who have entered the Where in the World are Our #ProudlyUNB Alumni contest aimed at locating and uniting our alumni around the world. The response to date has been remarkable, with more than 800 alumni responding within 24 hours of the contest launch, and entries now reaching more than 1,600. If you have alumni friends who would like to get better connected to UNB, please let them know about the contest. They could win a grand prize of $2,500 or one of three $500 prizes - and then perhaps share the winnings with you for suggesting it! We are part of a family of over 85,000 alumni. The 13th annual Proudly UNB Awards will be held Thursday, March 23, in Saint John. This year, 43 nominations were received for truly incredible individuals and groups. I encourage you to save the date for this wonderful evening honouring our fellow, distinguished UNB alumni and stay tuned for more information on the award recipients.
