Help support our recruitment efforts

The early weeks of the new year are always a critical time for UNB’s recruitment efforts as high school students kick their post-secondary application preparations into high gear. As UNB alumni, we have a tremendous opportunity to help our alma mater by encouraging prospective students to apply to UNB. We have a full range of support materials available to assist and to help you share the UNB experience with prospective students.

During my first Alumni Council meetings as president of the UNB Alumni Association, much of our discussions and action items centred around recruitment and marketing themes, and how we can support this important work. The recent launch of the #OnlyHere recruitment marketing campaign is a true source of pride for all UNB alumni. Driven by the ‘Why UNB?’ initiative, #OnlyHere directly targets prospective students and their influencers with innovative, creative messaging that clearly demonstrates what makes the UNB experience unique.

As alumni, #OnlyHere offers us a special role to play. We’ve all experienced the outstanding opportunities available at UNB. This campaign inspires the call to action for us to fully immerse in the recruitment effort. With Alumni Council representation in key recruitment markets like Ontario and Alberta, we now have our chance. I invite each of you to join us as #OnlyHere ambassadors and to share the UNB story proudly and boldly as never before within your networks and communities.

Here are five easy ways to help promote UNB to prospective students:

  • Encourage a prospective student to apply to UNB
  • Learn more about the ‘Why UNB?’ initiative and all the unique opportunities that are available #OnlyHere
  • Like and share the UNB Alumni and UNB Young Alumni Facebook pages
  • Tweet and retweet UNB alumni-related news and events via @unbalumni on Twitter using #OnlyHere, #ProudlyUNB and #UNBAbroad
  • Tell your UNB story loudly and proudly. I’d love to highlight examples of how you’re doing this in future Alumni News direct updates.

This winter, our recruitment team will be on the road in markets across Canada. Check out the full schedule of Transition to University events to see when they’ll be in your area and spread the word to prospective students considering university. We truly can impact not only our alma mater, but also our next-generation fellow alumni.
