The UNB brand is you
UNB's brand is the sum of all experiences that people have with our university, from the education that students receive in labs and classrooms, to the taste of the food in our cafeterias. It is what comes to mind when we hear the words "University of New Brunswick." All faculty, staff, students and alumni are not only touched by our brand - they help shape it. Each and every one of us.
In 2009-10, the Brand & Integrated Marketing team will develop a plan to help strengthen UNB's brand. This will go hand-in-hand with the strategic planning process. Meanwhile, our team will continue to help units present UNB in a consistent, high-quality way through visual identity standards, tools, templates and marketing advice. We invite faculty and staff to access our visual identity tool box, including logos, fonts, document and presentation templates as well as a comprehensive guide using their UNB login and pin.
More than a logo
Many people think of marketing in terms of a logo, tagline, brochure or perhaps the occasional print ad featured in a newspaper. We do care about those things and they are a part of our daily work. But, Brand & Integrated Marketing is about more than a logo or tagline.
Through research and testing, we navigate the cluttered and confusing river of information to find the most effective ways to communicate with prospective & current students, alumni, partners and donors.
We also reach out to develop partnerships throughout the university with individuals and departments who have marketing responsibilities to make sure we are making the best use of our collective resources and to receive the most impact. It is through such teamwork that we can all contribute to a stronger brand for UNB.
Ultimately, the inspiration and motivation for our work is found throughout the university and its myriad of activities. Our brand is evident in every classroom, every lab, every athletics venue and every community event where UNB is represented.
Our brand is what brings people to UNB and keeps them engaged.
