Neal Simon Memorial Trust

It is with great sadness that we record the death on 23 September 2006 of Neal Philip Perry Simon, in a boating accident in Labrador. Neal obtained his M.Sc.F. in 1998 and Ph.D. in 2006, both in the ALAR lab at UNB. His Ph.D. was completed while he worked as Regional Ecologist in Happy Valley-Goose Bay for the Newfoundland and Labrador Government.

Neal was an extraordinarily accomplished young ecologist and a good friend
and companion to many in ALAR and elsewhere; he will be greatly missed.

Neal’s memory will be commemorated by a scholarship to be established in his name; contributions to the Neal Simon Memorial Trust can be mailed to:
