Biology is the study of life. At UNB Saint John, Arts students can major in Biology, studying botany, ecology, zoology, organic chemistry and microbiology.

You will be able to explore the world of environmental science, sustainable development and public policies towards land and water use.

Bachelor of Arts

The Biology program is available as a major as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree.

Your biology degree could lead to work as a:

What you'll learn

In your first year you will take introductory studies in organic chemistry, ecology cells and organisims and biology lab work.

In second year you will add botany, microbiology, zoology and statistics to your course work and at the end of the year you may apply to major in Biology.

Upper-level studies in Biology may include conservation biology, environmental law and animal behaviour.

Your biology degree will teach you to analyze how living things work and interact with other organisms. You will learn to think critically and solve problems through observation and evaluation.
