To meet the demands of the growing Tourism and Hospitality industry, UNB Saint John offers a four-year Bachelor of Applied Management in Hospitality and Tourism (BAMHT). Our BAMHT degree is unique because students graduate with two key industry credentials: a Certificate and a Degree (if entering from high school); a Diploma and a Degree (if entering from College).
This degree is also unique because of Saint John’s distinctive historic and geographic significance. As the oldest incorporated city in Canada, Saint John boasts the largest collection of Victorian architecture outside of the UK, making it an ideal location for heritage tourism. Its location on the Bay of Fundy also makes it an attractive port-of-call for the growing cruise ship industry, and the perfect place for eco-tourism operations, such as whale watching, caving and sea kayaking. Saint John is the place to study the real thing!
In addition to working on class projects and case studies based on local businesses and their strategies, you can also gain experience either on your own time, or through our accredited Co-op program.
Bachelor of Applied Management
The UNB Saint John Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) degree programs offer college graduates the opportunity to continue their education at the university-level from a variety of college partners, and earn an undergraduate degree with only two more years (or four semesters) of study.
With your degree you are quipped to enter the tourism industry in areas as varied as hotel management, tourism research, park management, travel writing, or continue with hospitality tourism studies at the Masters level.
Program requirements
Hospitality and tourism does not offer its own degrees but rather provides the opportunity for students to pursue individualized and innovative interdisciplinary programs.
College students intending to pursue a degree at the University of New Brunswick Saint John must also successfully complete the equivalent of UNB Saint John courses in microeconomics or macroeconomics either while they complete their college diplomas or they may complete the course at UNB Saint John.
