Our education program provides you with the understanding and skills to be an effective teacher, whether of preschoolers, teenagers or adults.
You will not only learn about teaching at your chosen level, but also about the nature of education, human development, and how to work with special needs students.
Our revised curriculum has put UNB Fredericton’s Faculty of Education on the cutting edge of teacher education.
Students must complete a Bachelor’s degree before applying for the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree. Once accepted, students are required to complete 60 credit hours of combined course work and in-school experience taking approximately 11 months to complete the degree.
Because classroom experience is crucial to becoming an effective teacher, we provide students with a fully integrated practicum within the province of New Brunswick that will span the first nine months of the program.
Our program offers you the chance to pursue specialized area, while maintaining some diversification.
Specialization areas include: aboriginal education, second language education, art, health, literacy/drama, mathematics, music, physical education, science, social studies, early childhood education, special education, technology education, guidance and counselling.
