The Law in Society program explores the intimate relationship between law and contemporary societies. The program allows students to study this relationship from an interdisciplinary perspective that may include the philosophic, historic, political, economic and sociological foundations of law. The Law in Society program is a superb preparation for graduate study in the humanities and social sciences, as well as for professional studies including law, public administration, policing, social work, and business.

Bachelor of Arts

The Law in Society program is available as a major, double major or joint honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Arts is a four year program and covers a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions. In your first two years of the program, you will select courses in fields like humanities, languages, social sciences as well as science and business to provide you with a broad foundation for advanced study in your chosen subject area during the final two years.
