Teaching is a calling for those who want to share their learning and experience with others. Through the education programs at UNB, you will not only learn about teaching at your chosen level, but also about the nature of education, human development, and how to work with special needs students. Our newly revised curriculum has put UNB on the cutting edge of teacher education.
Education @ UNB Saint John
UNB Saint John offers a concurrent Bachelor of Arts / Bachelor of Education degree that focuses on elementary school teacher training for kindergarten through grade 5, and includes courses in human development, teaching techniques and education theories.
It is available to students who have completed their first year of studies in the Bachelor of Arts program at UNB Saint John. Students must apply for admission to the BEd program by the end of January in their first year at UNB Saint John.
Education @ UNB Fredericton
The Faculty of Education offers an undergraduate program that provides students with the understanding and skills to be an effective teacher of school age children or adults.
Students will also learn about the nature of education, human development and how to work with special needs students. The BEd program school years option leads students to teacher certification in New Brunswick as well as other jurisdictions.
