ENGL2703Introduction to Modern American Literature (O)3 ch (3C) (W)

An exploration of selected topics in American literature and culture. The theme of the course changes each year. In each course, students read selected works of poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and/or drama and may also explore the relationship between U.S. literature and other media such as film and television. Possible themes include the American West, multi-ethnic literature, U.S. presidential elections, the Beat Generation, and Hollywood fictions.
