Readings include selections in translation from tales of gods and heroes such as Vergil's Aeneid, and the autobiography of the great emperor Casear Augustus, Lectures are supplemented with images of Rome's spectacular acheivements, from the Colosseum and Pantheon in Rome to theatres and aqueducts from North Africa and the Middle East.
