An introductory course intended primarily for students requiring a one-term course in organic chemistry. Topics covered include all principal functional groups including carboxylic acids, amines and amides, as well as specialized topics such as stereochemistry, carbohydrates and lipids. It is a survey course designed to provide a broader coverage than in CHEM 2421 . It is not suitable as a prerequisite to CHEM 2422 . Credit will not be given for both CHEM 2401 and CHEM 2421 .
