Examines in detail a particular ethical theory or tradition and assesses it in light of arguments made by its proponents and critics. The focus of the course will vary from year to year but may cover areas such as utilitarianism and its critics, feminist ethics, virtue ethics, ancient Greek ethics, moral realism, social contract theory and Kant's ethics. May be taken for credit more than once. Title of topic will appear on transcript. Prerequisite: A course in Philosophy or permission of the instructor. Open to 2nd year students and above. | ||
