BIOL4899Population Analyses (O)3 ch (5C/L/S)

An evaluation of basic sampling and statistical issues for the design, analysis, and interpretation of animal and plant population research. Topics include sampling allocation, sampling sizes, P and Type errors, power and univariate vs multivariate tests; density dependence; assumptions and models; survival and natality rate analyses. Examples are based on contemporary research and literature. 

Prerequisites: introductory ecology and statistics courses, or permission of the instructor.
