Principles of prokaryotic physiology including synthesis and function of cellular components, metabolism and growth, and regulation of cellular processes. Topics include the response of bacteria to environmental factors, the physiology of bacterial-host interactions, bacterial genetics, and molecular and genomic tools to study microbial physiology.
