Thanks to the generous support of the President, Dr. Eddy Campbell, the School of Graduate Studies is able to offer a number of tuition awards to reinforce the recruitment of doctoral students for the upcoming May 1, September 1, and January 1 entry.

All students are eligible, including international students. Excluding the $35,000/year CGS doctoral awards and the Trudeau Doctoral Fellowships, the Doctoral Tuition Awards may be held on top of existing awards (for instance, regular NSERC or SSHRC doctoral fellowships, GRA/GTA, etc.). Successful candidates will receive the award for up to three years. Designed as recruitment scholarships, these awards will NOT be given to students already enrolled in the doctoral program.

Nominations for this competition should include (1) one letter of nomination from the GAU, co-signed by the Director of Graduate Studies and one of the Chair, Dean, or potential supervisor(s), indicating the candidate's area of research and exceptional background or promise (background could include known awards, significant publications, or contributions to knowledge); (2) in the case of more than one nomination from a GAU, a ranking by the GAU of its candidates; and (3) date of entry to the doctoral program
