Conditions:

Eligibility: All graduate students completing a masters (thesis/report) or doctoral level program at UNB in a given year will be considered for the award. Selection Committee: The winner of the Governor General's Gold Medal will be selected by a committee composed of the Dean of the School of Graduate Studies or designate, and three members appointed by the Executive Committee of the School. The membership will be on a rotating basis with members holding a three-year appointment. The members of the Selection Committee will consist of one member from the SSHRC disciplines, one member from the NSERC disciplines, and a third member selected from any faculty. Nominations: Each Faculty may nominate one candidate for the Governor General's Gold Medal. Selection of the candidate will be made internally by the Faculty and the selection procedures used will be at the Faculty level and will be determined entirely by the particular Faculty. The nomination of the candidates by the Faculties to the Selection Committee must address the criteria and include documentation on the items listed on the ""Nomination for the Governor General's Gold Medal"" form.
